Introduction

It is hard to believe that I have been writing and sharing this blog for more than twelve years. What began in January 2014 as a simple idea in our farmhouse has grown into something far more meaningful than I ever imagined. At the time, I only wanted to capture the season of life unfolding around us—to preserve the ordinary days, the unexpected adventures, the quiet changes, and the milestones that seemed to arrive faster than we could fully understand them. I picked up my camera, opened a journal, and began documenting both the big moments and the small ones: family gatherings, daily work, changing seasons, celebrations, challenges, laughter around the table, and those peaceful hours when nothing extraordinary happened, yet everything felt worth remembering. I also hoped that by sharing these stories online, someone somewhere might enjoy following along. I did not know who would read the words, how long the project would last, or whether the photographs would matter to anyone outside our home. I simply felt that our lives were entering a chapter I did not want to forget. Over the years, the blog became a record not only of what happened, but also of how we changed. Looking back through old posts is like opening a collection of windows into earlier versions of ourselves. I can see rooms that looked different, children who were smaller, dreams that were still taking shape, projects that had only just begun, and moments that once felt ordinary but now carry a deep sense of nostalgia. Some posts remind me of joyful seasons, while others bring back difficult days that required patience, courage, and faith. Together, they tell a story that is honest, imperfect, and deeply personal. What surprises me most is how this little online space also created connections with people I may never have met otherwise. Readers arrived from different places and different walks of life, yet many recognized something familiar in our experiences. They shared encouragement, memories, advice, and stories of their own. In that way, the blog became more than a personal journal; it became a conversation, a community, and a reminder that even the simplest parts of life can bring people together. Twelve years is a long time, and the world of blogging has changed dramatically since 2014. Platforms have come and gone, trends have shifted, and the way we share our lives online has become faster and more polished. Still, the heart of this blog remains the same. It is about slowing down long enough to notice what is happening, paying attention to the details that might otherwise disappear, and honoring the beauty found in everyday life. I am grateful for every person who has read a post, left a comment, shared a memory, or quietly returned over the years. Most of all, I am thankful that the idea born in our farmhouse became a lasting archive of a life being lived one day at a time. There are still stories to tell, photographs to take, lessons to learn, and countless ordinary moments waiting to become treasured memories in time. As I continue writing, I hope to keep capturing the moments ahead with the same curiosity and sincerity that started it all, and to keep sharing them with anyone who still wishes to follow along.
