This week a kid in Illinois opened the mailbox and found a free book with Dolly Parton’s name inside, the five millionth one her program has mailed to that state alone. Most of the children who get them have no idea she’s a country legend. They just know her as the Book Lady. Dolly Parton is 80 years old. She could spend her days doing absolutely anything. What she does is make sure other people’s children grow up with books in the house.
